If
I go full-on-makeup mode, then I must be going somewhere special. As much as I
wanted to do the contouring and use my favorite falsies, I simply couldn’t – I am
in school almost every day after all. After watching a couple of makeup
tutorial video clips on Instagram and how good they contour their faces, I realized
that maybe, with the right contouring product, I can sport it even on school
days. That’s when I found Missha Soft Blending Stick Blusher in Mud Brown.
Missha Soft Blending Stick Blusher in Mud Brown is actually a blush product, but because of its darker shade, I thought that it can pass as a contour too. Mud Brown is the darkest shade among the 6 available colors. Pecan brown was my first choice, but I decided to go with Mud brown instead because it may work better for contouring.
Mud Brown has a reddish undertone so you have to go easy while blending it down. It’s also not as pigmented as I thought it would be, but maybe because it is, after all, a blush on. So, I have to put on a couple of layers to build up the color and set it with a contour powder to make it last longer.
I am not quite fond of the smell of this blending stick blusher. It isn’t bad, but it doesn’t smell good either – it smells more like an old foundation.
Anyway, I like how buttery it is and does not have a shimmery finish.
Another
good thing about Missha Soft Blending Stick Blusher is that it comes with a
built-in brush. It kind of reminds me of a stippling brush, only smaller. The brush
is soft and dense making it easier to use; it is also detachable so you can clean
the brush after using it. Nevertheless, I don’t like using it to blend the contour
stick as I prefer to use my fingers. Using my fingers allows me to control the
blending and build up the color more. Also, it tends to transfer to the
blending brush and that makes me use more of the cream stick than necessary. Perhaps
I could use the brush for other purposes.

For a girl like me who prefer a subtle makeup and
wants to give her face a little bit of contour, then this is the one for you. And
for 500 pesos, this one is already a good deal.
