No More Red Bumps with Centellian 24 Madeca Derma Cream
Wednesday, December 19, 2018
One of my skin problems these days is my forehead bumps. They’re swollen
and painful and are bothering me for weeks now. At first I though it’s just
because I’m going to have my period, but no, my period passed already and they’re
still there. Ugh! Only to realize that I do have Centellian 24 Madeca Cream in my skincare stash. So, I decided to
give it a try after reading numerous positive reviews of it. And you what? It
freaking works!
I broke my number 1 blogger rule for this Madeca Derma Cream, I started
using it even without taking a product photo of it first. It’s worth it. Anyway,
its packaging resembles a typical ointment tube. It actually looks like it is a
medicinal ointment than a skincare product. For all its worth, Madeca Derma
Cream’s key ingredient – Titrated Extract of Centella Asiatica – claims to heal
wounds, scars, and is also anti-aging.
Its texture is like your usual ointment, a bit thick yet somehow
watery. For my dry skin, this cream is still on the sticky side and will be
fully absorbed by the skin after a few minutes. Also, due to it having Synthetic
Beeswax, which can basically clogged pores, I am only using it during the day
and rest my pores during the night. It has a hint of floral scent to it too.
Performance
I’ve been using it for one whole week now and the result is amazing!
Lately, I really feel like my forehead is angry at me as red bumps continuously
pop out one after another. And not just a regular red bumps, mine are swollen,
painful and itchy at times too!
Apologies for the difference in
lighting on my photo, Mr. Sun wasn’t cooperating with me when I’m taking the After
photo. Ugh.
After 7 days of continuously using Madeca Derma Cream, the red bumps on my forehead lessened. The big swollen ones flatten and not painful anymore. Although they
do itch from time to time. You’ll also notice how my skin looks so much better
on the 7th day, tiny bumps are almost gone. I’m sure that on the 14th
day, my skin will be all clear. I’ll keep you guys posted on that.
Did I mention that this cream is a good moisturizer too? Well, it
does, although it is quite heavy even for my dry skin, I still like how it
makes my skin plumper and have that instant glass-like skin effect. And I am
hoping that my skin will remain just that, with glass-like effect permanently.
Char! I know it’s not that easy. LOL
Centellian Madeca Derma Cream 50ml, is available at my CHARIS shop for only Php1,190,
Cash On Delivery is also available.

Quick Review of Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Pact
Sunday, September 23, 2018
As I was looking for a good powder to
help me from looking like a sweaty athlete (which I am definitely not), I found
this Aritaum
Pore Master Sebum Control Pact in Althea. My skin may be dry, but my
sweat glands want to confuse me and made me think that I was oily. Thanks to
the people of Linea Organica by enlightening me on my true skin condition.
Product Info
Aritaum
Pore Master Sebum Control Pact
Price:
Php380.00
Where
to buy: Althea
Overall
This tiny powder pact is so cute and compact
it can even fit in your pocket! I think it has the same size as Innisfree No
Sebum Mineral Powder. In terms of packaging, I like this one better because it
has a separator between the puff applicator and the product itself and a mirror.
This pact also has a mild mint scent, which is not a problem to me at all.
The real question is, does it work? Very
much so. Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Pact has been my everyday retouch
powder ever since I got my hands on it. It can really help you control the
excess sebum off your face and gives this semi-matte finish; there's also this tiny illuminating effect it gives on the skin. If you are using
blotting paper, imagine its result, but with an extra smooth feeling like you
just applied a setting powder.
Is it okay to use as setting powder? Yes,
for light makeup, and no for medium to heavy makeup look. I think this powder pact is not really meant to use as setting powder (trait that No Sebum Mineral Powder has), but just for a quick touch ups every now and then to control the oiliness. It is still great because it can maintain a fresh looking face for hours, so there's that.
Have you tried this powder too? Did you like it? Let me know in the comments below 😁

Review | Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting Lavender Cushion #3 Sand
Saturday, September 08, 2018
Have you ever bought something just because it
looks pretty? Well, I have (many times). One of these ‘purchases’ is Peripera
Pearly Night Inklasting Lavender Cushion. Come on guys, who can’t resist
something this pretty with its shining shimmering splendid case? I don’t know
about you, but anything that shimmers are done deal to me. But of course, we
don’t want just something that pretty outside, it has to be something on the
inside as well, right?
Product Info
Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting Lavender Cushion
#3 Sand
Price: PHP720.00
Where to buy: Club Clio PH
Packaging
Hands down, this cushion has one of the prettiest
packaging I’ve seen so far. It has this waterfall thing going on, but instead
of just water, they added glitters in it to make it even more magical looking. And
man, how Peripera nailed it.
Anyway, the cushion case itself is quite bulky and
heavy. Perhaps it’s because of the extra weight of the water from the
packaging. And just like any cushion, it also has this extra layer that
separates the puff from the cushion itself. Every Hangul written on the box has
its corresponding English translation, so you don’t have to guess what’s
written on it. Aesthetics aside, the puff handle broke easily; during the third
time I used it, the handle of the puff (where Peripera is written) snapped.
Now, I have trouble using its own puff to use the cushion. Sayang!
Performance
My first concern about this cushion is the shade. I
chose the darkest shade they have which is #3 Sand and prayed that I made the
right choice since the majority of Korean cushions have lighter shades that
doesn’t fit Pinay’s morena skin. Thankfully, Sand is just the right shade for
me. It’s still a bit lighter than my preferred shade, but nothing a setting
power cannot fix.
Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting Lavender Cushion
has a medium to heavy coverage. What I noticed though, is that the more layer
you apply, the more lighter it gets. Still, one layer is enough to cover my
skin pigmentations and redness around my nose rather well. You can see how
flawless the finish looks like and very Koreana too! Not the glass skin like I
expected it to be, but dewy enough to make my skin looks well-moisturized.
Also, at approximately 3 or 4 hours later, I can
start feeling the heaviness of this cushion on my face. Take note that I spend
most of my day in our office with air-conditioning, yet I can still feel how
heavy it is (and I only apply one layer). I am not saying that this will be the
case for everybody since we all have different skin conditions. By the way, I
have a very dehydrated skin, and I noticed that any base makeup with heavy
coverage tends to feel this way for me. So, this might work for you.
Overall, Peripera Pearly Night Inklasting
Lavender Cushion is a hit and miss for me. I love how pretty the packaging is
but, I don’t like how the puff handle easily snapped after only a few times I
used it. I love how it can cover my blemishes and how beautiful the finish is,
but I don’t like its heaviness. But the good thing is, it can withstand almost
anything because girls, this cushion stays all day!

Cleanser & Mask In One: Althea X Get It Beauty Real Fresh Skin Detoxer
Sunday, August 19, 2018
I am an Althea Angel, people! That means I can get the first dibs to
all new products Althea Korea will launch. And to welcome me as part of this
community, they sent me their first collaboration with South Korea’s number 1
beauty show, Get It Beauty – the Real Fresh Skin Detoxer.

BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK | TWITTER | INSTAGRAM
Real Fresh Skin Detoxer (Php550each) is a daily 10-second wash off mask that has two variants – Rose and
Green Tea that is meant to be used day (Rose) and night (Green Tea). That’s right,
you only need 10 seconds when using this so you don’t have any excuse to skip
it!
How to use Althea’s Real Fresh Skin Detoxer?
Start with a dry face. Apply a generous amount of product onto your face
and leave it for 10 seconds. After that, slightly damp your hands and start
massaging your face for at least 3-5 more seconds before washing it off. Then
continue with your skincare routine.
Note: You don’t necessarily need to cleanse before using it
because it actually is a 2-in-1 product – both a cleanser and a mask. Still, if
you are wearing a makeup, it is best to remove it first with your usual
cleanser/makeup remover. Don’t worry as these are surprisingly mild for a
cleanser so, it won’t dry out your skin. Also, if you leave it on for more than
10 seconds and you have a pimple or any type of breakout, your skin will feel
slightly tingly.
| Top: Real Fresh Skin Detoxer in Rose ; Bottom: Real Fresh Skin Detoxer in Green Tea |
Is Althea’s Real Fresh Skin Detoxer effective?
The Green Tea variant is for Purifying while Rose variant is for Refining.
Honestly, I am having a hard time vouching if these two can indeed purify and
refine my skin. It can, however, makes my skin smoother, clearer, and cleaner without
the dry feeling. Whenever I am washing it off with water, I am having trouble
making out if I have already washed it all off from my face because my skin
feels so smooth and soft that I always think that there are still some left.
You get what I mean?
I expect it to have an effect on my skin whenever I’m breaking out,
unfortunately, it did nothing – I don’t think these are meant for that anyway.
On the other hand, Real Fresh Skin Detoxer has given me a new and easier way to
keep my skin with good moisture level, smoothness, and clearer state.
My skin is thanking me for not skipping my skincare routine day and
night, thanks to its 10-second feature! Get your own now and experience it
yourself ♥.

Quick Review of Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner
Monday, May 28, 2018
If there’s one thing I cannot skip in my skin
care routine, it’s the toner. I’ve had my fair share of toners, and one of my
favorites is Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. It’s loaded with amino
acids, removes the remaining impurities from cleansing while balancing the pH
level of the skin. It sounds almost too perfect, yes. Then again, even the best
product may not work for some. So, Klairs decided to raise their game by developing
a new toner that will suit any skin type and condition – the Klairs
Supple Preparation Unscented Toner.
Product Info:
Klairs
Supple Preparation Unscented Toner
Price: USD17.59
Where to buy: Wishtrend
Main
Functions and Differences:
✔ Fast absorbing
✔ Lightweight texture
✔ Low irritation
✔ Vegan-friendly
The main
difference between the two are that the unscented packaging has
changed from a brown bottle to a transparent bottle to match the theme of the
no essential oils. In addition, there is a beautiful purple and a silver color
theme for a newer, fresher, and sleeker feel to the product.
Performance
Clears
Supple Preparation Unscented Toner has a thicker consistency than the original
one. It is almost gel-like and yet still managed to be lightweight when applied
on the skin. I am quite intrigued with it being unscented because it sort of have,
but I can’t really put my finger on it. I don’t mind, though
I don’t have a sensitive skin, but my skin is
quite dry, and this toner was able to keep my skin from dry patches all day. Of
course, with the help of my other skin care products. The difference with using
Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner
is that it absorbs quickly, hydrates intensely, and makes my skin well-moisturized
even before I put on a moisturizer.
The photo above is my skin after applying only
Klairs Supple Preparation Unscented Toner. You see that my skin looks like it’s
already ready for a makeup routine, right? Because it is!

First Impressions on Althea's Bare Essentials
Friday, April 06, 2018Althea strips down to the bare essentials with this new skincare line
Yes, ladies, you read that right, Althea
Korea just launched not one, but three skincare products! It isn’t that long
when they launched their very own Petal
Velvet Power and now this – Bare Essentials Skincare Line. Althea’s Bare
Essentials focuses on skincare fundamentals and drops all the non-essentials.
These thoughtfully crafted products give the benefits of the infamous 10-step
Korean skincare routine, rolled into 3 quick and easy steps.
Packaging
With just the product name, brand, and some important information like ingredients and the like, the Bare Essentials Line’s packaging was kept as minimal as possible without looking cheap; as a matter of fact, it did exactly the opposite, with its minimal look, it turns out looking very classy.
The Bare Essentials range consists of three
hypoallergenic products suitable for any skin types. The Contour Cleanser,
Primer Water, and Fixer Cream. I started using it for a couple of days now and
I think sharing my first impression of them sounds like a nice idea, yes?
Performance
The Contour Cleanser 150g, Price: Php300.00
Althea Says: Packed
with soothing Ice Plant and detoxifying Lemon Myrtle extracts, this cleanser is
densely filled with microcapsules that burst upon contact with water to gently
cleanse, exfoliate, and detoxify skin. The Contour Cleanser helps to promote
blood circulation, and reduces bloating and swelling for a defined, enviably
slim face shape.
My Say: Well, I can’t really vouch
its contour claim, but this cleanser works wonders. It’s like a 2-in-1 product
because of its microcapsules that makes it a cleanser and exfoliator at the
same time. It also gives a slight cooling effect while massaging on the face
making my face feel refreshed after. In fairness, it cleans just fine.
The Primer Water 200ml Price: Php550.00
Althea Says: Both
a hydrating toner and a primer in one, the Primer Water contains patented
dewdrop technology (Macro Fluidic Dispersion technology) that gently fills the
gaps between pores and allows hydration to penetrate deep within the layers of
the skin. Made with Snow Lotus extracts, this skincare heavy hitter has an
incredibly smooth and silky texture that enhances the skin’s natural glow,
leaving you with the perfect canvas.
My Say: Because it has a
thick consistency, I am applying this directly on my face. This toner is almost
non-scented and is gentle on the skin. It feels like I don’t have to continue
with the next step because of how it makes my skin feel smoother after it’s
fully absorbed.
The Fixer Cream 50g Price: Php640.00
Althea Says: This
non-oily, quick-absorbing formula harnesses the power of Trehalose, an
ingredient found in the cactus plant that prevents its moisture loss, to
provide the skin with 24-hour hydration. This ultra-nourishing wonder cream is
also rich in antioxidants derived from Camellia Sinensis (green tea) seed oil
and helps to promote collagen regeneration using Baobab Tree extracts. Upon
application, your skin is left looking great and feeling bouncy to the touch.
My Say: This is quite
on the heavy side once on the skin, which is contrary to its slight watery texture.
Despite being heavy, this cream is surprisingly easy to absorb and settles in.
I have dry skin and Fixer Cream hydrates it well enough to last a day without
my skin being patchy.
As of now, I don’t have much to say about
Althea’s Bare Essentials line, but one thing is for sure, for a skincare line under
Php1,500, and made with only the best ingredients, this sure is a steal! I mean,
where else can you find products that are clean, minimal, yet with effective
formulas? These straightforward products epitomize simple perfection and
deliver maximum results with minimum effort.
You can now get your hands on these
highly coveted products; you’re just a click away from glowing, flawless,
crystal clear skin. Plus, Althea is giving out an additional 10% off with a
free special edition mirror if you purchase now so head on over to www.althea.kr today! #AltheaKorea #AltheaBE

Lizly Oh My Awesome Tint Matte Review & Swatches
Friday, December 29, 2017
Lizly is
a brand that Althea Korea has
introduced to me. Surprisingly, their products are really good and promising. I’ve
read several positive reviews of their eyeshadow palette which made me want to
try it myself. But due to unavoidable circumstances when shopping online, I
didn’t get to buy it. So I bought the Oh My Awesome Tint - Matte
instead.
Product Info:
Lizly Oh My Awesome Tint – Matte in Awesome
Marsala
Price: 350PHP
Where to
buy: ph.althea.kr
With a price tag of 350PHP, this tint (or more like
a liquid lipstick) is housed in pretty and elegant tube and box. You will think
that this costs more than its original price. It also has a doe-foot applicator
just like any liquid type lipstick out there. I noticed is that the applicator
tends to hold too much product on it; what I do is I swipe off the extra
product on the inside-mouth of the tube to control the application.
It has a mousse-like and velvety texture. I don’t
know why they named it as a tint when it’s clearly a liquid lipstick. Oh well.
Overall Performance
Awesome
Marsala is one of the four shades with matte finish. I expect it to be more
on the darker shade of rose, but turns out to look like an old rose shade. Still,
the color sure is very pretty. My friends actually like it! Also, as you can
see in my swatch above, it is not the perfect matte finish that we all want. It
takes less than a minute before it fully dries on my lips and to mattify. Or I
press my lips together to instantly have the matte finish.
The best part, though, is how pigmented this lippy
is! I don’t even need to apply a second layer on my lips to get the color
payoff that I want! No need for any lip concealer to cover a small
discoloration on the side of my lower lip thanks to the 101% opacity of it. Lily
Oh My Awesome Tint is also light on the lips and does not give me any
discomfort after it fully dries unlike some matte liquid lipsticks I own.
As per its longevity, this is pretty decent with
minimal transfer and 3-4 hours retouch free. Once it’s completely gone from my
lips, it leaves a very nice pinkish stain to keep my face looking fresh almost
for the whole day. I sometimes still have stains left on my lips the next
morning.
Lizly Oh My Awesome Tint sure is a must-have, plus
it is pretty affordable too!
