I’ve
always been a fan of tea. Milk tea places has been widely distributed all over
the Philippines – from international to local-made brands. It is, without a
doubt, a new trend with the youngsters nowadays. Imagine a large milk tea
drink, an air-conditioned tamabayan,
and a free Wi-Fi access all for just a hundred pesos. And here I am, introducing
yet again another milk tea place you will surely enjoy. Not just because they
have affordable drinks, they also
have the freshest local fruits in season with your choice of tea. You might
have heard about them because they’ve been serving milk tea and fruit juices
for 20 years now! It’s called CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice.
This year, CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice marks a
milestone as the global brand celebrates its 20th anniversary. Since its
inception in Taipei in 1997, the brand’s commitment of using only the freshest
ingredients has solidified its position as the leading on-the-go fresh beverage
provider in the world.
Here in the Philippines, CoCo Fresh Tea &
Juice marks its fourth year of operation since 2013 and has since become the
global brand’s top performing market in Southeast Asia in terms of number of
branches, expansion efforts and sales.
By using
only fruits that are in season, Filipinos are assured that every drink is fresh
and retains the fruits’ optimal flavor. CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice in other
countries followed suit by using only fruits in season for their delicious,
fresh beverages.
L - Strawberry Slush (P130/Large) / R - Matcha Slush with Salty Cream (P120/Large)
So, my
sister and I, tried four of CoCo Tea’s drinks. Our first two orders were
Strawberry Slush (P130/Large) and Matcha Slush with Salty Cream (P120/Large). The
size of their large cup is like the size of a Venti drink in Starbucks. They’re
very generous with toppings too – we decided to try white pearls for our slush.
The flavor was just right and hindi
nakakaumay. The matcha slush is also good and very much complemented by the
salty cream. We also noticed that their slush are more on the heavy side, so I
guess we will settle with a regular cup next time.
L - Salty Cream Strawberry Tea (P130/Large) / R - Passion Fruit Tea Burst (P100/Large)
On the
other hand, if you’re into juices and light drinks, I highly recommend ordering
Passion Fruit Tea Burst. It already comes with two free toppings for only 100 pesos
for a large size already! You will also notice that it has this weird seeds in
the drink, I forgot to ask about it, but I believe that it is a passion fruit
seeds. It kinda bothered me at first, but it’s surprisingly edible. It gives
the drink a unique crunch that other flavors doesn’t have. It doesn’t have a
taste whatsoever, by the way. The Salty Cream Strawberry Tea is like a juice
version of Strawberry Slush but with the twist of a salty cream.
CoCo Fresh Tea & Juice Philippines owes this to their
commitment of keeping true to the brand’s philosophy of “Keeping it Fresh.”
