Something
new is cooking inside Solaire Resort. As most of you might already know, they opened
a new wing extension, Sky Tower. One of the highlights of this new tower is the
new fine dining place called Waterside Restobar.
Waterside
Restobar is a cozy, beautiful, spacious, modern, and luxurious place to dine.
They didn’t name it Waterside Restobar for nothing; a great view of the side of
the place is the poolside and Manila bay. It is the perfect place to have a
date, dine, and relax at the same time.
You will
definitely want to stay here all day and try all their Meditteranean, Latin American,
and Filipino dish with a twist. Perhaps, you want to have a drink after a long
day at work – Waterside Restobar have something to offer. Let me start with the
tapas.
Bruchetta Auburgin caviar, salsa Lucia |
Jabugo Ham, pineapple, and blue cheese |
Chorizo sweet melon and mint |
Sardanillas olive oil, crusty bread |
Bruchetta
and Jabugo are my best tapas choices. Both are good and flavorful. I’m not
really a fan of caviar, but after trying two bruchetta, I think I like it. The
Jabugo is kinda salty, maybe because of the cheese and it was complimented by
the pineapple. The ham is medyo hilaw to
my liking pero keri parin!
Humita sweet corn baked in husk |
The sweet corn,
baked in husk with a hint of ginger is my favorite From the Grill. It was
minced and turned into cream-like that can wake up your appetite. Surprisingly,
Humita and rice was a good combination. Humita is a heavy dish; if you want to
eat more, then avoid taking a spoonful, eat it little but little. Trust me.
Crushed Stuffed carbonara potatoes |
Crack Back Chicken Whole chicken brined, roasted and BBQ glazed |
Beef Brisket & Jumbo Prawns twice cooked, poached, and charred | lemon, garlic, and pimento |
Paella Valenciana The classic safron spiced paella with chicken, prawns and pimento |
If you’re
into meat, you have plenty of dishes to choose. Try the Crack Back Chicken, Jumbo
Prawns and Paella Valenciana, and you might forget who you are. Seriously,
their Paella is classic! It’s like the first edition of all Paellas! They
served it in a teeny tiny casserole, which makes it more delectable and
mouth-watering just by looking at it.
Moving on to
the dessert; you only have two choices –Pineapple or Chocolate tart. Honestly,
I love both. You might be wondering what’s under the pineapple hills, yes?
There’s nothing special in it, it’s just a well-shaved ice with pineapple
flavor. The chocolate tart is just the usual one, but with a raspberry jelly
underneath and a thick vanilla bean sauce. It’s a combination of sweet and
sour. That I like.
Pineapple Ravioli, chili, and sorbet |
Chocolate Tart raspberry jelly |
Being a fine
dining restaurant, Waterside Restobar’s food rates are quite affordable. For
two people, P1k is enough. The place is great, and utterly romantic at night. Not
to mention the pro crews and cooks that will serve you nicely every step of
your eating and relaxing stay. Or maybe you want to spend a few bucks to try
your luck in the casino just across the restobar? You and your tummy will absolutely
enjoy it there!
So, if you
are ever near, or swing by Solaire Resort, make sure to try the sumptuous,
delectable, luscious, and whatever adjective to describe the delicacies of Waterside
Restobar. I promise that it’s worth your time.
