Angel Makeup Look using Althea's Makeup Line
Thursday, February 28, 2019
Althea Korea finally released a FULL makeup line!
It’s been a while since I posted a makeup look here on my blog. I
actually considered making a video tutorial but maybe next time. Anyway, what
we have here today is the newest makeup line of none other than *drum roll*
Althea Korea! And as an Althea Angel myself, I decided to create my version of
Angel Makeup look.
This zit-zapping treatment is a revolutionary
formula that applies thinly onto the skin before drying down to a smooth
canvas, protecting the area and allowing for makeup to be applied on without a
trace! It contains tea tree oil to quickly and effectively treat acne, while a
mix of Centella and pine leaf extracts calm redness, treating acne while you’re
out and about.
HOW TO USE:
Ensure the area of
the skin is clean before application.
Gently squeeze to
dispense a small amount of product, then apply a thin, even layer onto the
targeted area using either your finger or the applicator.
Allow to dry
completely before proceeding with makeup application.
Wipe away any excess
product off the applicator before replacing the cap.
This spot film gel is ideal to use in order to provide extra care to your zits. We all know that putting makeup on top of a pimple is not good and will result to a longer healing time. That's where Althea's Skin Relief Spot Film Gel comes in - it allows a pimple/zit to have a layer of protection from your makeup without wiping away the skin care products you just used.

Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer
has four available shades:
#01 Vanilla (Pink Beige) – can
be used as highlighter
#02 Ginger (Warn Ivory) –
suitable for fair skintone
#03 Honey (Warm Peach) – best
used as concealer for Asian skintone
#04 Mocha (Deeper Yellow) –
can be used alone as foundation substitute suitable for morena skin
For my makeup base, I used the darkest shade which is #04 Mocha since
it’s the closest shade to my skin tone. No foundation was used for this look as
I prefer to use only concealer as my makeup base. I like the powdery finish of
this concealer. The coverage is also medium to heavy.
Sunrise & Moonrise! Made in collaboration
with Bunga Citra Lestari, these 8 shades will take you from gorgeous daytime to
sultry night time, giving you the effortlessly glamorous feminine style Bunga
is known for.
Bunga Citra Lestari is an Indonesian singer and
actress that have graced the screens of many across South East Asia.
Affectionately known to her fans as BCL, she’s also a beauty and fashion icon
that exudes style, beauty and femininity.
COLOR GUIDE (from left to right):
#01 A shimmery nude with pink
undertones, perfect an all over base shade or to highlight.
#02 A matte light brown to create
definition. Add this to the crease or even under the eye for added depth.
#03 A luxurious metallic rose gold
with pink undertones, perfect for adding a romantic bling to the look.
#04 A must-have metallic gold to
add shimmer to the look for added radiance.
#05 A rich brown with golden
shimmer. It adds a little depth to the look and can be worn with the lighter
shades to tone them down.
#06 A deep wine shade that
delivers a sultry look with a feminine touch.
#07 A pearly pink shadow with
purple undertones for a fine wisp of shimmer, great for illuminating and adding
brightness.
#08 A cool purple with a subtle
shimmer. Use this to add some gorgeous definition to finish your look.
SPOTLIGHT
EYE GLITTER, P300
This sparkly number doubles up as both an
eyeshadow and a liner to light up the eyes for some perky, glamorous peepers.
Whether you like a subtle glow or a full-on glitter look, these have a
hydrating formula that glides on like butter over the lids, allowing for an
easy blend.
Available in two
colors:
#01 Gold
Light
#02 Pink
Light
For the eyes, I opted to create a feminine, simple, yet cool look. I used
the eyeshadow shades #02, #04, and #06 to achieve this look. To add a bit of
drama to the look, I decided to add a little bit of Spotlight Eye Glitter in
Gold Light.
WATERCOLOR CREAM TINT, P260
These pretty tubes give you the best of all
worlds with the pigmentation of a lipstick, the long-wearing power of a stain
and the moisturizing formula of a gloss. Bold, pigmented and equipped with a
pretty sheen, these lippies contain hyaluronic acid and squalene to prevent
chapped lips from flaking, perfect for stashing in your purse for easy
touch-ups and comfortable wear.
COLOR GUIDE:
#01 Plum
Cream - A rich, luxurious plum shade,
perfect for a night out
#02
Strawberry Cream - A juicy red
reminiscent of freshly bitten strawberries
#03 Peach
Cream - A brightening, fresh coral with
pink undertones to suit both warm and cool skin tone
#04 Maroon Cream - An MLBB shade made from browns and pinks
for a chic, everyday look
To finish the whole Angel Makeup look, I used the
shade Strawberry Cream. I also used the same shade for my blush.
I actually love these tints of Althea. The range
of colors is the colors I’d wear daily. The consistency of the tints is
gel-like which makes it easier to blend if used as blush. The color pigmentation
is the same regardless of the shade.
THE FINISHED LOOK
I
am pretty satisfied with the outcome of my makeup look using Althea Makeup
Line.
Although
I have to say that some of the shades from the eyeshadow palette are not as
pigmented as I thought it would be – especially of you are a morena like me. The
first layer of the palette fit those with fair skin. I had to apply a couple of
layers in order to achieve the color payoff that I want. The second layers
works just fine with me.
I
also had fun using the eye glitter; they’re versatile and pretty. You can
either use them on top of a matte eyeshadow and even on top of the lips for a metallic
look.
My
favorite items among this collection would probably be the concealers. I like
its finish and how lightweight they are. The staying power is also something to
highlight as they stay on a dry skin for a whole day without being flaky and
cakey.

Quick Review of Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser
Tuesday, January 29, 2019
Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser, Php430.00
If there’s one word to describe Althea Korea, it’s Genius. I mean, a serum cleanser? Are you kidding me?! That’s like an answered prayer for every lazy-ass junkies like moi!
This serum cleanser has gel-like consistency yet lightweight on skin. It’s minty-scent is barely noticeable. But what I like most about this baby is how it leaves my skin well-moisturized after every wash. It also maintains a healthy balance of the skin, so no to drying out.
Before ending my day with a beauty sleep, I make sure that my face is clean from all the makeups I’ve worn (okay, I don’t really wear makeup often for the past few months now, but anyway..). A matte liquid lipstick and waterproof eyeliner are the ones I have struggled to remove since day one so, I gave Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser a test.

Even after massaging the serum cleanser onto the liquid lipstick and eyeliner I used, the stains remained intact. Although I might say that it did a really good job removing it without a mess. For a heavy makeup, you’d really need to double cleans to fully remove the makeup. But if you’re into something light and natural makeup, then consider Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser because with this, you can skip moisturising after a long day at work and go straight to sleep.

Urban Femme Scent: Althea Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist
Althea Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist, Php450.00
I’ve always been a fan of floral-fruity scents. I love how refreshing and playful they smell. That’s why it’s no wonder why I found myself so fond of Althea’s Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist.
Althea released this body mist in collaboration with an Indonesian singer-actress Titi Kamal. And if this is her kind of scent then, we’ll probably get along.
PERFORMANCE
Let’s cut to the chase and talk about why I love this product.
The Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist is a sparkling mist of sweet orange and peach (I love the combination of these two), followed by an ever-graceful echo of rosy floral scent. Now, I’m not really into rosy scent because I prefer the scent of freesia more, however, the fruity scent of this mist really got me.
I know I’ve mentioned this before, that my nose is kind of sensitive when it comes to strong scents. Thankfully, this one is not overbearingly strong, yet lingers for hours. The combination of fruity and floral notes created a very feminine and unique scent. I’d say I’ve never smelt anything like it before.
This is now my daily mist when going to work and like my usual perfume, I apply it on my nape and cleavage to make the scent much more noticeable to others. It also has a non-sticky formula that feels comfortable on the skin. This body mist truly is a perfect representation of an urban femme. Mhisha approves!

What's New at Althea Korea: Petal Velvet Sunaway + Milk Peel Cream Mask
Friday, November 30, 2018
I am always on the lookout for a new beauty product. I may not always show and share with you through my social media but, I really do, quietly. But the highlight of my today’s post is what’s currently taking the K-beauty by storm – the new products by Althea Korea namely Petal Velvet Sunaway and Milk Peel Cream Mask.
Althea’s Petal Velvet Sunaway and Milk Peel Cream Mask are their newest addition to their growing brand. I’m not surprised why because these two are the bomb! Let me introduce you to each these two products and also give you a quickie review individually.
Let’s
start with Petal Velvet Sunaway (55ml) |
Php480. If I remember correctly, this sunscreen has been available for a
couple of months now. The same with Althea’s products, this too has a
minimalistic design but with their signature pink color. Its key ingredients
are Damask Rose Extracts, Hyaluronic Acid,
and Geranium oil to maintain the youthfulness of the skin, make it extra
hydrated and smoother. However, the scent can be pretty strong upon application
but it fades away almost quickly.
(Also see: Althea Petal Velvet Powder Review)
Note: Always remember to
shake well before use. The first time I used it, I forgot to shake it and it
spilled like crazy! I’m sure I am not the only one who experienced it. LOL. Also,
upon shaking, I notice that there’s something inside the bottle that helps the
product to be well-shaken.
Petal Velvet Sunaway became my favorite sunscreen next to Biore. It’s lightweight,
easily absorbed by the skin, gives a velvety finish, and give no sticky feeling.
On to the next product, the Milk
Peel Cream Mask (50ml) | Php490. I was really excited when Althea sent me
this one because you all know that I am a big sucker to anything-mask! Funny
thing is, this one is not really a peel-type mask which was what I initially
though. It turns out that Milk Peel Cream Mask is actually a bubble mask. Still
fun, though.
Althea
Milk Peel Cream Mask contains AHA, BHA, and proteins from milk. But, it smells
more like a baby powder than milk – which doesn’t bother me at all. It has a
clay-like consistency that turns into a bubbles after 30-60 minutes. Be mindful
of the time as it has triplex exfoliating properties, meaning that it is quite
strong and may give a stingy/itchy feeling if left on the skin longer than
recommended time.
After rinsing it off, I noticed how my skin became brighter and
fresher. My face feels so clean and smooth, plus it’s so fun to use!
Overall, these two are great addition to my skincare routine. Both are
easy and fun to use, something to make my routine exciting. How about you, have
you tried any Althea products?

Quick Review of Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Pact
Sunday, September 23, 2018
As I was looking for a good powder to
help me from looking like a sweaty athlete (which I am definitely not), I found
this Aritaum
Pore Master Sebum Control Pact in Althea. My skin may be dry, but my
sweat glands want to confuse me and made me think that I was oily. Thanks to
the people of Linea Organica by enlightening me on my true skin condition.
Product Info
Aritaum
Pore Master Sebum Control Pact
Price:
Php380.00
Where
to buy: Althea
Overall
This tiny powder pact is so cute and compact
it can even fit in your pocket! I think it has the same size as Innisfree No
Sebum Mineral Powder. In terms of packaging, I like this one better because it
has a separator between the puff applicator and the product itself and a mirror.
This pact also has a mild mint scent, which is not a problem to me at all.
The real question is, does it work? Very
much so. Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Pact has been my everyday retouch
powder ever since I got my hands on it. It can really help you control the
excess sebum off your face and gives this semi-matte finish; there's also this tiny illuminating effect it gives on the skin. If you are using
blotting paper, imagine its result, but with an extra smooth feeling like you
just applied a setting powder.
Is it okay to use as setting powder? Yes,
for light makeup, and no for medium to heavy makeup look. I think this powder pact is not really meant to use as setting powder (trait that No Sebum Mineral Powder has), but just for a quick touch ups every now and then to control the oiliness. It is still great because it can maintain a fresh looking face for hours, so there's that.
Have you tried this powder too? Did you like it? Let me know in the comments below 😁

Cleanser & Mask In One: Althea X Get It Beauty Real Fresh Skin Detoxer
Sunday, August 19, 2018
I am an Althea Angel, people! That means I can get the first dibs to
all new products Althea Korea will launch. And to welcome me as part of this
community, they sent me their first collaboration with South Korea’s number 1
beauty show, Get It Beauty – the Real Fresh Skin Detoxer.

BLOGLOVIN | FACEBOOK | TWITTER | INSTAGRAM
Real Fresh Skin Detoxer (Php550each) is a daily 10-second wash off mask that has two variants – Rose and
Green Tea that is meant to be used day (Rose) and night (Green Tea). That’s right,
you only need 10 seconds when using this so you don’t have any excuse to skip
it!
How to use Althea’s Real Fresh Skin Detoxer?
Start with a dry face. Apply a generous amount of product onto your face
and leave it for 10 seconds. After that, slightly damp your hands and start
massaging your face for at least 3-5 more seconds before washing it off. Then
continue with your skincare routine.
Note: You don’t necessarily need to cleanse before using it
because it actually is a 2-in-1 product – both a cleanser and a mask. Still, if
you are wearing a makeup, it is best to remove it first with your usual
cleanser/makeup remover. Don’t worry as these are surprisingly mild for a
cleanser so, it won’t dry out your skin. Also, if you leave it on for more than
10 seconds and you have a pimple or any type of breakout, your skin will feel
slightly tingly.
| Top: Real Fresh Skin Detoxer in Rose ; Bottom: Real Fresh Skin Detoxer in Green Tea |
Is Althea’s Real Fresh Skin Detoxer effective?
The Green Tea variant is for Purifying while Rose variant is for Refining.
Honestly, I am having a hard time vouching if these two can indeed purify and
refine my skin. It can, however, makes my skin smoother, clearer, and cleaner without
the dry feeling. Whenever I am washing it off with water, I am having trouble
making out if I have already washed it all off from my face because my skin
feels so smooth and soft that I always think that there are still some left.
You get what I mean?
I expect it to have an effect on my skin whenever I’m breaking out,
unfortunately, it did nothing – I don’t think these are meant for that anyway.
On the other hand, Real Fresh Skin Detoxer has given me a new and easier way to
keep my skin with good moisture level, smoothness, and clearer state.
My skin is thanking me for not skipping my skincare routine day and
night, thanks to its 10-second feature! Get your own now and experience it
yourself ♥.

First Impressions on Althea's Bare Essentials
Friday, April 06, 2018Althea strips down to the bare essentials with this new skincare line
Yes, ladies, you read that right, Althea
Korea just launched not one, but three skincare products! It isn’t that long
when they launched their very own Petal
Velvet Power and now this – Bare Essentials Skincare Line. Althea’s Bare
Essentials focuses on skincare fundamentals and drops all the non-essentials.
These thoughtfully crafted products give the benefits of the infamous 10-step
Korean skincare routine, rolled into 3 quick and easy steps.
Packaging
With just the product name, brand, and some important information like ingredients and the like, the Bare Essentials Line’s packaging was kept as minimal as possible without looking cheap; as a matter of fact, it did exactly the opposite, with its minimal look, it turns out looking very classy.
The Bare Essentials range consists of three
hypoallergenic products suitable for any skin types. The Contour Cleanser,
Primer Water, and Fixer Cream. I started using it for a couple of days now and
I think sharing my first impression of them sounds like a nice idea, yes?
Performance
The Contour Cleanser 150g, Price: Php300.00
Althea Says: Packed
with soothing Ice Plant and detoxifying Lemon Myrtle extracts, this cleanser is
densely filled with microcapsules that burst upon contact with water to gently
cleanse, exfoliate, and detoxify skin. The Contour Cleanser helps to promote
blood circulation, and reduces bloating and swelling for a defined, enviably
slim face shape.
My Say: Well, I can’t really vouch
its contour claim, but this cleanser works wonders. It’s like a 2-in-1 product
because of its microcapsules that makes it a cleanser and exfoliator at the
same time. It also gives a slight cooling effect while massaging on the face
making my face feel refreshed after. In fairness, it cleans just fine.
The Primer Water 200ml Price: Php550.00
Althea Says: Both
a hydrating toner and a primer in one, the Primer Water contains patented
dewdrop technology (Macro Fluidic Dispersion technology) that gently fills the
gaps between pores and allows hydration to penetrate deep within the layers of
the skin. Made with Snow Lotus extracts, this skincare heavy hitter has an
incredibly smooth and silky texture that enhances the skin’s natural glow,
leaving you with the perfect canvas.
My Say: Because it has a
thick consistency, I am applying this directly on my face. This toner is almost
non-scented and is gentle on the skin. It feels like I don’t have to continue
with the next step because of how it makes my skin feel smoother after it’s
fully absorbed.
The Fixer Cream 50g Price: Php640.00
Althea Says: This
non-oily, quick-absorbing formula harnesses the power of Trehalose, an
ingredient found in the cactus plant that prevents its moisture loss, to
provide the skin with 24-hour hydration. This ultra-nourishing wonder cream is
also rich in antioxidants derived from Camellia Sinensis (green tea) seed oil
and helps to promote collagen regeneration using Baobab Tree extracts. Upon
application, your skin is left looking great and feeling bouncy to the touch.
My Say: This is quite
on the heavy side once on the skin, which is contrary to its slight watery texture.
Despite being heavy, this cream is surprisingly easy to absorb and settles in.
I have dry skin and Fixer Cream hydrates it well enough to last a day without
my skin being patchy.
As of now, I don’t have much to say about
Althea’s Bare Essentials line, but one thing is for sure, for a skincare line under
Php1,500, and made with only the best ingredients, this sure is a steal! I mean,
where else can you find products that are clean, minimal, yet with effective
formulas? These straightforward products epitomize simple perfection and
deliver maximum results with minimum effort.
You can now get your hands on these
highly coveted products; you’re just a click away from glowing, flawless,
crystal clear skin. Plus, Althea is giving out an additional 10% off with a
free special edition mirror if you purchase now so head on over to www.althea.kr today! #AltheaKorea #AltheaBE

Lizly Oh My Awesome Tint Matte Review & Swatches
Friday, December 29, 2017
Lizly is
a brand that Althea Korea has
introduced to me. Surprisingly, their products are really good and promising. I’ve
read several positive reviews of their eyeshadow palette which made me want to
try it myself. But due to unavoidable circumstances when shopping online, I
didn’t get to buy it. So I bought the Oh My Awesome Tint - Matte
instead.
Product Info:
Lizly Oh My Awesome Tint – Matte in Awesome
Marsala
Price: 350PHP
Where to
buy: ph.althea.kr
With a price tag of 350PHP, this tint (or more like
a liquid lipstick) is housed in pretty and elegant tube and box. You will think
that this costs more than its original price. It also has a doe-foot applicator
just like any liquid type lipstick out there. I noticed is that the applicator
tends to hold too much product on it; what I do is I swipe off the extra
product on the inside-mouth of the tube to control the application.
It has a mousse-like and velvety texture. I don’t
know why they named it as a tint when it’s clearly a liquid lipstick. Oh well.
Overall Performance
Awesome
Marsala is one of the four shades with matte finish. I expect it to be more
on the darker shade of rose, but turns out to look like an old rose shade. Still,
the color sure is very pretty. My friends actually like it! Also, as you can
see in my swatch above, it is not the perfect matte finish that we all want. It
takes less than a minute before it fully dries on my lips and to mattify. Or I
press my lips together to instantly have the matte finish.
The best part, though, is how pigmented this lippy
is! I don’t even need to apply a second layer on my lips to get the color
payoff that I want! No need for any lip concealer to cover a small
discoloration on the side of my lower lip thanks to the 101% opacity of it. Lily
Oh My Awesome Tint is also light on the lips and does not give me any
discomfort after it fully dries unlike some matte liquid lipsticks I own.
As per its longevity, this is pretty decent with
minimal transfer and 3-4 hours retouch free. Once it’s completely gone from my
lips, it leaves a very nice pinkish stain to keep my face looking fresh almost
for the whole day. I sometimes still have stains left on my lips the next
morning.
Lizly Oh My Awesome Tint sure is a must-have, plus
it is pretty affordable too!
