Quick Review of L'Oreal Rouge Magique Lipsticks

I have found the perfect shade of lipstick for everyday wear! Yes, I’ve found the one in the form of L’Oreal Rouge Magique Instense Matte Lipstick – Mont Blanc. And a bonus dark and seductive colors of The Fort and Purple Comtesse. They are highly pigmented, has a matte finish, and long lasting lipsticks.

Product Info:
L’Oreal Rouge Magique Instense Matte Lipstick
Price: Php400
Where to buy: Available in Lazada, Department stores, and Watsons nationwide

The lightest shade in the whole L’Oreal Rouge Magique Instense Matte Lipstick is Mont Blanc, the darkest shade is The Fort, while Purple Comtesse has this sangria wine shade going on. It glides on smoothly upon application that will make you think if it is indeed a matte lipstick. The formulation of these lipsticks made it easier to apply and glides on smoothly onto the lips.

Overall Performance

I was a bit disappointed, though, when I finally tried it on only to see that it doesn’t have the intense matte finish I was expecting. In my opinion, this falls in semi-matte finish as there is something dewy about. I am not complaining, though. It’s probably the reason why it is not as drying compared to other matte lipsticks out there.
Mont Blanc is definitely my favorite. It has this nude-pink shade that is perfect for an everyday look. I just noticed that it tends to get darker when I applied it on my lips. Still, the color turns out really great and compliments my morena skin tone. The Fort and Purple Comtesse are great for a dramatic and sexy look. The three have a very opaque color that it covers discoloration of my lips. Longevity is never an issue; it stays on for a good 6 hours, will start fading at 4, but without the need to re-apply. Yes, it transfers, but very minimal.

I highly recommend L’Oreal Rouge Magique Instense Matte Lipstick. The color selection will suit every Filipina as it complements our morena skintone. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/lorealparisphilippines.

Let me know what other shades are worth trying.

Valentine’s Day slowing approaching, it’s the more reason for us, women, to prettify and pucker up. Whether you’re single or in a relationship, it doesn’t matter. No one can stop spoiling ourselves and make sure our faces are done to perfection. To complete your look this coming day of hearts, Celeteque is upgraded their makeup game by adding not one, but three more covetable shades of their matte lip stick to our arsenal – Nude, Ruby, and Wine. (Read: Review of Celeteque Matte Lip Stick in Cherry).

Product Info

Celeteque Matte Lip Stick
Price: Php595
Where to buy: In all Watson’s branches nationwide

Like all of Céleteque’s Dermo offerings, Céleteque DermoCosmetics Matte Lipsticks are co-created with dermatologists, ensuring that each lipstick is infused with dermo-grade ingredients that keep sensitive lip skin healthy.

Céleteque Matte Lipsticks give your lips the alluring touch of a long-wearing formula that lends lips a vivid matte color finish. It glides on easily and leaves the lips with no waxy feel. Céleteque’s lippies have Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E) that moisturizes lips, Bisabolol that reduces flaking and restores suppleness, as well as Candelilla Wax that nourishes lip skin. The effect? Happily healthy lips raring to pucker up and raring to flash that gorgeous smile.

Ruby, a statement-making party-ready crimson. This shade reminds me of Kylie lip kit in 22.

Nude, a brown-tone neutral that can match any skin tone. If you’re more on the natural makeup side, then this is the one for you. It doesn’t make my face look pale at all, and I’m morena.

Wine, a deep mauve that for that grounded regal look. I get a lot of compliments when wearing this one, the color is really nice and can go with any makeup look.
These three NEW Céleteque Matte Lipsticks make for perfect kit companions for the upcoming Valentine’s Day. Add these new colors to your lippie collections and be ready for an exciting fourth quarter and perhaps a date too! As Bob Marley once said, “There is nothing more beautiful than the curve of a woman’s smile” – and thanks to Céleteque, that curve got even lovelier.

Among the three, which is the one you like most?

Local Drug Store Find: Fashion 21 All-Day Matte Lipsticks

I believe that there is always a gem in a sea full of ordinary things. I don’t know how it started, but Filipinos have this common misconception about local brands – that they are not as good as those of foreign brands. Some Filipinos will even buy a fake makeup from a high-end brand just to be ‘in’, without knowing that there is a better alternative that’s safe and cheaper than those knockoffs. There are so many local brands with good-performer products, like Fashion 21 All-Day Matte Lipsticks.

The packaging of Fashion 21 All-Day Matte Lipsticks reminds me of MAC lipsticks. They are pretty cute in their purple-ish bullet-style tube. My only concern is that the part where you twist the tube tends to get loose easily, so you gotta be extra careful with it. The manufactured date was written under the tube together with the name of the shade of each lipstick.

I have six shades of Fashion 21 All-Day Matte Lipstick; Bliss, Blossom, Passion, Rosy, Garnet, and Flamingo. At first glance, they look like a bunch of red lipsticks, but they’re actually more on the pink side.

Bliss has a soft orange color. At first it looks like a bright orange, but it’s actually a mild orange with a hint of peach when on the lips.
Blossom and Garnet have almost identical fuchsia pink shade. They are my favorite.
Passion and Rosy also has an identical soft dark pink going on.
Flamingo is the only one with shimmer in it. I was actually expecting a bright pink shade for this one, but it turns out that it’s a frosty peachy pink.

The formulation of these lipsticks is surprisingly good. They are creamy and moisturizing. The pigmentation is so-so, not good, but also not bad. I had to swipe a couple of layers to build up the color, except for the Blossom. Perhaps it is because Blossom has a darker shade so it is more opaque than the others. Bliss is next to Blossom in terms of opacity.

What’s really surprising is how long they can stay and withstand the Manila heat! Okay, maybe they are not as pigmented as those with other brands, still they are totally buildable and if you add one or two more swipes to your lips, it can give you a nice color. But for a 175 pesos lipstick that can stay for several hours? Ooh… I’ll say dibs!

Review: Celeteque Matte Lip Stick in Cherry

Have you ever been wrong about a product? I mean, you thought that it was bad when you first tried it so you put it in the forgotten-stash, but months later you remembered that you have it and gave it another go, only this time, you realize that it’s actually nice. In short, a love-hate relationship with a certain product. Celeteque Matte Lip Stick made me realize that you simply can’t hate a lipstick. They are always worth a second chance, yes?

I don’t know when it started, but a chubby crayon type of lipstick sure is a hit these days. Almost every brand has a version of their own – even Celeteque DermoCosmetics decided to get in the trend. There are three available colors of Matte Lip Stick: Cherry, Pink, and Peach. I have Cherry.

What makes Celeteque Matte Lip Stick different to others? This lipstick has Vitamin E that moisturizes the lips, Bisabolol that reduces flaking and restore suppleness, and Candelilla Wax that nourishes the lips. Yeah, this one is packed with powerful skin care ingredients. That’s what Celeteque makeup line promises, after all – makeup and skincare in one.

I expected a more reddish shade for Cherry, yet it looks like a Barbie pink than cherry to me. I have seen the reviews of the other two shades and it seems like all of them are pretty the same. Anyway, cherry reminds me of a pink rose, bright and beautiful.
We know how matte lipstick works, they can be quite drying, and Celeteque Matte Lip Stick is no exemption. It can accentuate the lines of the lips if not applied properly. I recommend blending it using your fingers after applying the lipstick on the lips for a less dry-looking lips. Don’t worry about transferring the lipstick to your fingers because it is pigmented enough not to be noticeable (no need for another layer after blending). It can also stay for up to 3-4 hours.

This lipstick’s pigment is impressive. It’s very opaque that one swipe is enough to give you a beautiful color. It is creamy and thick. I can be drying, but it doesn’t feel like it at all. So yeah, no heavy feeling compared to other matte lipsticks out there. Still, prepping your lips with lip balm before using it is a must.

Review | Missha Everlasting Lacquer Rouge PK01

Now that I realized, I should have posted this review before Valentine’s Day. I’ve been eyeing for Missha Everlasting Lacquer Rouge since last year. So when Missha had their 50% off sale, I grabbed that opportunity to buy myself two colors of Missha Everlasting Lacquer Rouge. But just like any sale problems, one of my choices was out of stock, which was red, by the way.

Excited to get a hold of Missha Everlasting Lacquer Rouge, I searched for a store that’s offering the discounted price of the product and will deliver my order faster. That’s when I saw Bae Lu, an online store based in the Philippines. I was ready to make my order in Gmartket that time, but realized that I can save from shipping fees and getting my package being held in customs if I will choose to order at Bae Lu. And I did.

PRODUCT INFO:
Brand: Missha
Name: Everlasting Lacquer Rouge PK01
Net Wt: 6g
MADE in KOREA
Price: ₩ 9,660 | USD9.11
Where to Buy: Byutinet (link to the product) | Bae Lu

VERDICT:
This is my very first Missha product, seriously. Although the brand and I have the same name, it doesn’t appeal to me that much before, not until lip lacquers become a hit in the makeup market.

Missha Everlasting Lacquer Rouge has this elegant-and-pricey packaging. This lip lacquer comes in a long tube with crystal-like cap. There’s also a gradient effect on the tube in which you’ll see what color of the product you have.

What I also noticed is that Missha didn’t put enough English information on the box and the tube itself. All you will see are a bunch of Korean characters written on the side and back of the box, which is not helpful to those non-Koreans at all.

The tube is long and so is the applicator. The lip applicator is like any common lip products that came in a tube packaging. A doe-foot applicator. Nothing special.
I was supposed to have the RD01 & PK01 of Missha Everlasting Lacquer Rouge but just as I said earlier, the red at that time was out of stock. But doesn’t this pink look lovely? The swatches above prove it, right? This lip lacquer rouge has a perfect pigment. One swipe and you are good! It smells like strawberry candy too. It’s creamy and gets dry real fast; after 5-7 seconds and it’s already dry. Let me show you how they look like on my lips.

Alright! Missha Everlasting Lacquer Rouge has a matte finish, I mean, really matte. And if you have a very dry lip, I suggest that you should exfoliate and moisturize your lips first before using this product. See how it might accentuate the dry area of your lips? That is why I encourage you to do the basic lip care routine before using any matte lipsticks, cream, etc..

The color payoff is really pretty. Romantic, sweet, and subtle pink, that’s what I always think when I am wearing this lip lacquer. Perfect for dates, school, work, or any occasion. Just remember not to put too much layer on your lips specially because you might don’t like the finish. One layer is enough to achieve the sweet, feminine, and innocent look.

I know that V-day is over, but not to those who are truly in-love because I am sure that every day is Valentine’s day to you. Am I wrong? LOL So girl, go on a date and wear this Everlasting Lacquer Rouge and I am sure that it’ll stay on your lips like forever. Kiss your boyfriend and it won’t budge at all! Haha.

Yes, it will last on your lips the whole day, but make sure that you have your most reliable makeup remover on the side because it’ll be really difficult to remove. Its longevity is a pro but it’s also a con. ^^ I can’t wait to try the red version of this product.

REVIEW | MAC Matte Lipstick Candy Yum Yum

It's been a while since my last post, right? Forgive me gorgeous-es, I've been really busy with my studies. But today, I promise to do at least 2-3 update posts for you to read on. I will review first my first MAC lipstick ever!!! MAC Candy yum yum, which I won from Yette's previous giveaway. Thanks Yette!

I was really happy and excited after knowing that I won that giveaway, it was my first time winning on a blog giveaway. Actually, the prize was only the Benefit Gettin' Cheeky but I was really shocked to know that Yette will include a MAC lipstick. Uhmmm.... I think I just repeated what i said. LOL! Anyway, let's begin the review.

PRODUCT INFO:

Brand: M.A.C
Name: Matte Lipstick
Shade: Candy Yum Yum
Net Wt: 3g
Price: Php1,000
Where to Buy: In all MAC's stores nationwide

Packaging: MAC's packaging of their lipstick all has the same look, black and silver, which is very elegant. Nothing special except that it has a MAC logo embossed on it. Compared to my other lipsticks, this one has weight, I mean it weighs kinda heavy but not that heavy, imagine that your lipstick has an extra packaging on it.

Swatch: Candy yum yum has a much pigmented, bright neon pink shade and matte finish. This also has a vanilla scent and makes a very pretty pink bold statement lipstick. I can’t really say anything but it’s really pretty and draws the attention because of its matte neon pink finish.

(No make-up except MAC Candy Yum Yum)

Verdict: To tell you honestly, I really wanted to achieve the Barbie lips, and I did not thought that it’ll come true by means of MAC Candy yum yum. I have a dry lip and while wearing this one; it doesn’t feel dry but not hydrating too. The vibrant pink stains stays on my lips for 6-8 hours maximum. It settles on the cracks of my lips perfectly, but if you have a very dry lip then lip balms are very much encouraged to pull off this lipstick. It also applies smoothly despite of its matte factor.

Some might say that bright colors of lipstick is only to those who have a white skin complexions then I guess they are wrong about that, because MAC’s candy yum yum also suits those with dark complexions too! For me, I don’t suggest to wear it with full make-up. Why? Well, because the lipstick itself can pull off your look.

Okay, the downside.. it is pricey! LOL. Good thing I won this lipstick!

So, would you dare wear this bright neon pink lipstick?

REVIEW | Ever Bilena Matte Lipsticks

Quick Post.

It's been a week of no-blog-post right? Did you miss me? LOL! I've been very busy reading novels this past few weeks. You know how reading distracts my blogger life, ne? But anyway, here's a new review of my Ever Bilena Matte Lippies, which I won from EB's previous contest. There were 12 of these but now, only 7 left in me which is quite enough for my own use.

I gave some to my kikay relatives since not all the shades are my liking. This review is way long overdue, but I don't know why I kept on forgetting this one. haha! So, here are the remaining shades that was left for me.

PRODUCT INFO:

BRAND: Ever Bilena
NAME: Matte Lipstick
PRICE: Php155
WHERE to BUY: Watson's

These matte lipsticks comes in a simple black and silver packaging with a lip gloss found on the upper part of the cap. What's that for? well, if you don't want a matte effect, then you can always use those glosses to have the glossy effect instead. :) Honestly, these are my first matte lippies, yes! my first (latebloomer, eh?) I just have this feeling that matte is not for my lips coz my lips tends to be really dry. But thanks to these babies I am able to realize that I can also wear matte's.

♡ VERDICT: This EB Matte Lipstick is worth your Php155. They are very pigmented and has a pretty matte finish. I am also impressed on its staying power which last for 4-5 hours without retouching or even if you ate something, the full color will fade but still you'll notice that there is a hint of the shade on your lips. Not-drying but rather moisturizing, this matte lipstick. I'd really love to show you how it looks on my lips but,  I should say that, I don't have time? No! truthfully, I am too lazy to do so. LOL

This matte babies are a steal! For only Php155, you'll get a nice product and its available in many shades that will suit your taste and its in Watson's nationwide!
