A Review of Korea's No.1 Primer, Banila Co Prime Primer Classic

 Hello loves! Finally, I have my internet back. I’ve been meaning to post this review last week only to find out that that day, my connection was cut off. What I have for you this time is one of the most popular products in Korea, the Banila Co Prime Primer Classic. For someone who doesn’t like to retouch every hour, I find it weird that I always skip primer in my makeup routine. Not that I don’t have primers in my stash, it’s just that I’m always in a hurry that I don’t find it necessary to use one. But when your foundation is not cooperating, it’ll leave you no choice but to grab your favorite primer and get your makeup done. And my current go-to primer is Banila Co Prime Primer Classic.

Banila Co makes sure that their best-selling primer can accommodate every skin type, so they have 5 variants of Prime Primer – Classic, Matte, Blur, Hydrating and Shimmer. Since I have a combination skin (oily t-zone and the rest is dry), I think Classic is the safest choice.

The primer has a gel-like texture and becomes watery and translucent when you massage it onto the face. At first I thought that it may be on the heavy side, yet it is actually lighter than I expected it to be. I recommend using a small amount of the primer because a little goes a really long way; applying too much will result to some sort of white clumps forming, and you don’t want that ruining your base. It smells divine, like lavender.  

Its finish is in the middle of matte and dewy. No shine or dry feeling, it’s almost like giving your skin another layer. Or more like a hydrated layer. Applying a foundation under it is fuss-free and smooth. While it may not blur out the majority of my pores a.k.a the big ones, it hazes the smaller ones rather well.

With Prime Primer Classic under my foundation, my skin is less shiny and patchy. It can also extend the longevity of my foundation or BB Cream for another 2-3 hours. As for its sebum control claims, it’s not really 100% working, but enough to make my makeup oil free for a couple of hours. And that is a good thing because I have a very oily T-zone. This isn’t a life-changing primer and it’s not as perfect as it claims to be, but its performance impressed me.

REVIEW: Etude House Baby Choux Base #2 Berry

I've been into make-up primers and bases these days, I don't know why but they just have appeals to me now its like they are pulling and attracting me to buy them. (Imagine how Rebecca Bloomwood from Confessions of Shopaholic talking to the mannequins of the stores she encounters) Haha!

Etude House recently launched their newest and sweetest line, the Sweet Recipe... and among the products in the line I've been eyeing to this one "Baby Choux Base". It's been the talk of the town ever since it was released and of course I, have to get one myself!  Last week my new baby arrived that I bought from Kkochipida, its the Baby Choux Base #2 berry you can't imagine how happy I am to finally had my hands on it.  Packaging is always the issue when you heard Etude House and they didn't disappoint us ever since. Just look how lovely this Baby Choux base packaging is from the box to its jar! The box is sure like it has a cake inside or should I say, cream puffs? the box also has all the information you'll need to know about the product. I also love the white and pink stripes pattern on it. ^o^

The base product is in a frosted glass jar which is cute but a lil heavy but I don't mind :)

SWATCHES:

It has a light to medium coverage depending on how much product you'll apply on your face. But for me, this alone will do I mean you can never find a make-up base that works somehow like bb cream. You can notice how it slightly cover the mole on my arms and take note, its just a make-up base. ^^

THE GOOD:
- Pretty packaging
- Helps the make-up last longer
- Smells like strawberries
- Light-medium coverage
- Glides on smoothly
- Easy to apply
- You can wear it alone
- Gives a moist and fluffy feeling on skin
- Light weight on skin, feels like nothing when worn.



THE BAD:
- I don't know if it is just me but it kinda feels rough every time I apply it on my face
- Doesn't have spatula to scoop the product

How to use:

：Before using foundation or BB cream, apply a proper amount to all over the face.

Its texture is really creamy and easy to spread, this little amount of product is enough for my whole face. ^o^

It sparkles right? To tell you the truth, I really don't like primers with glitters but this primer is different even though it has its tiny glitters it doesn't show off on skin rather it gives a matte finish.

This is my first primer from Nature Republic and I think that I did chose the right product for me. I have a combination of dry and oily skin, so primer is must for me before applying bb cream or foundation and I am also the type of girl who's lazy retouching every minute. 

By flower primer gives a matte finish as shown on photos above, it also gives a moist feeling on my skin. With this primer applied my bb cream lasted 4 more hours than its usual lasting power, pretty impressive right? That is why I love this primer. Its just that it doesn't have a decent smell, or should I say that it smells like a plastic ( I actually don't trust my sense of smell. LOL )
