Review: Shiseido Medicated Baby Powder

Every time I’m on the go and don’t have the time to put anything liquid on my face and blend it out evenly, powders are my savior. I’ve had my fair share of good face powders, but none of them were like Shiseido Medicated Baby Powder.

Honestly, I didn’t know that Shiseido has this powder, I haven’t heard about this product until some online sellers posted it on their shops. I was curious, but not enough for me to buy and try it myself. Happy Hauler sent me Shiseido Medicated Baby Powder to try and review, and I must say that I’m impressed.

Packed in a bulky jar with a twist-to-open cap, Shiseido Medicated Baby Powder contains 50g of the product in it. It comes with a puff that’s really soft and surprisingly worked well, but no mirror included. The packaging reminds me of this:
I have read from a few beauty forums that this powder can be used on babies. So, to those who have sensitive skin out there, you are safe with this powder! The texture is soft but a bit chalky – just like the normal powders you use at home. At first I thought that it might have an unpleasant scent since it is medicated powder. To my surprise, it has a very mild and barely noticeable smell of milk.
This is actually a pressed powder, maybe because of some unavoidable circumstances happened during the shipment, it broke and became half loose and half pressed powder. I don’t really mind the mess, though.

The powder itself is white, it’s not translucent, it’s simply white, so expect a slight white cast on your face if not blended well. As much as I love the puffer, I still prefer using a big fluffy powder brush to apply this powder.

What’s really impressive is how Shiseido Medicated Baby Powder controls the oiliness of my t-zone. It keeps me shine-free for 3-4 hours. It’s very light and very versatile. I tried using it as a body powder on my baby cousin and it worked! If you’ll ever use it as a setting powder, remember not to use too much product.

Overall, this is a very nice powder. It has really good oil control properties and doesn’t dry out my skin. You might have a problem buying this one for you, it’s only available at a few online stores.

BDJ BOX Beauty Social Primp & Pretty

For the second time around, I was again able to attend the second beauty social of BDJ BOX themed Primp & Pretty last September 29, 2013, Sunday at SM North Edsa Sky Dome. It was not a very good Sunday to me then because I had a class in the morning and had my final exam at 5pm. Technically, I only stayed on the event for my talk and do some picture taking. Luckily, I was able to meet two of my blogger friends, Yette of Yettezkie's Doodle and Gen-zel of Genzel Kisses. So, what really happened during my short stay on the Beauty Social?  Continue reading then... ^^

(Beauty Social Passport)

I was assigned to attend two talks the; Max Factor's How do I look & Parisian Pretty with L'Oreal Paris. But since I had to be at school at exactly 5pm for my final exams, although I really wanted to attend my second talk, I have to go after my first talk and had some photos taken for my blog.

Bobby Carlos of Max Factor doing a short question and answer with the participants. Mostly of what he shared are already familiar with me. He introduces the version of Max Factor's CC cream and these three ladies with him received a major make-over using their newest products. :)

And here are the booths in the event.

And my most favorite booth of all, the Garnier's booth.

Garnier gave us free drinks during the event! :) It felt like we were in some kind of bar lol.

Do I look like I had fun? Well, I really did! Although I only stayed for a while, it was another great experience for me and it's all thanks to BDJ BOX! I can't share more with you because I only stayed not more than one and a half hour in the event but I hope you enjoy reading this post! :)

As for the loot bag I got, I will include it on my haul post later *wink*

SAMPLE ROOM: 7 DAY CHALLENGE - Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum & Power brightening Mask

Hello gorgeousness! Have you heard about Sample Room? if you did, then I guess you all knew that just recently they gave out many samples of Shiseido White Lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum & power brightening mask. I know that these pair are really expensive and I was really lucky to be able to try them for free. Shiseido Whiter lucent Intensive Spot Targeting Serum & power brightening mask were also known as the Crush & Eject ultimate pair for ultimate spotless white skin.

Sample Room gave us a 9ml of the White lucent serum & 1 Power brightening mask for free~!!! And all I did was keep on checking their website until the samples are available after that you should have a very QUICK hands and of course internet connection because any samples from Sample Room will be gone any second. Thankfully I was quick enough ^^ LOL. Also, Sample Room also holds an event and will give out 3 full size of Shiseido White Lucent Pair to those who were able to get the samples to those who'll join their 7 day challenge. Of course, I joined! it's such a waste not to, yes yes? then let's move on to my review;

MASK:

Sample size: 1pc

WHERE TO BUY: In all Shiseido stores / Sample Room

I rarely encounter sample size in a pump type, mostly comes in a tube type especially skin care products. And this one really is good, although you have to pump it repeatedly on your first try then after that it'll be easy to use.

Nothing special about the mask, just a normal packaging with the "How to use" part at the back.

I used the White Lucent Serum for seven days & used the mask on the seventh day (night) just as instructed by Sample Room for the 7day challenge.

I created a gif file for you to clearly see the consistency of the Shiseido intensive spot targeting serum. As you can see, it is very watery no sign of stickiness at all and because of that it is very easy to apply on face, absorbs by the skin after a minute of application. This serum has a little touch of floral with alcohol scent.

The moment I opened the Power brightening mask what i first noticed was "Wow! It was soaked too much!"  . It actually felt too thick for a single mask. My skin also feels very relaxed with the mask on plus with its powdery calming scent too, and after I removed it and turn the lights off (me & my sister was watching movies that night) my sister says: "Ate kitang kita yung mukha mo kahit sa dilim" so it only means that the instant brightening effect of the mask was indeed true.

The Verdict:

NOTE: I tried my best to take the best shot of my face color and the photo below is 95% accurate to my actual skin tone.

I am loving this Shiseido White Lucent pair!  I really have a trouble hiding/concealing those face scars and I can say that with just 7 days usage of the serum, those scars lightens a bit and of course my whole face too. My face feel very smooth and soft now, I actually stopped using any other skin care products when I received my sample for me too see if it'll really work on me. And yes! it does work~ kkkk. Even my mother notices that my face is getting whiter. Also a good thing that it did not irritate my skin. Maybe if I will continue using this serum those scars will not be noticeable at all.

Overall rating: 5/5

That's all for the review! I hope this post helps you.
Thank you for reading~
