First Impression on Maybelline FIT Me Collection + Swatches

We’ve asked for it, and now they’re here. Maybelline Fit me! is finally here in thePhilippines! I was lucky enough to be part of the squad who gets to see and try the FitMe! collection. While I don’t have the whole range of the 10 available shades of the foundation, I have here the swatches of FitMe! Matte+Poreless Liquid Foundation, FitMe! Stick Foundation, FitMe! Pressed Powder, and Fit Me Concealer
Let’s start with FitMe! Matte+Poreless Liquid Foundation – Price: Php399.00
I’m shade #238 Rich Tan. As its name says, this foundation has indeed matte finish, but not matte matte if I may say so. There’s actually dewiness in it that gives this slight glow-y effect. The coverage is medium to heavy depending on the amount you’ll apply and is easily blendable. My skin has become oily (probably due to the weather) and did I mention that I am acidic? No? Now I did. LOL So, if you are acidic like moi, and is interested to try this foundation, you may want to consider getting one that is two shades lighter because this one oxidizes that much. Or maybe it’s just in my case. Consider it still. As for its longevity, I’d say it is average, perhaps 4-5 hours wear time. Again, this may vary from skin type to skin type.

Next is FitMe! Stick Foundation – Price: Php399.00
I’m shade #130 Buff Beige. Now this is my favorite! Maybelline says that this is their first ever powder foundation in stick form; that’s like two-in-one product! You get to have a powder and foundation in one! And folks, their claims are 100% true. This stick foundation is matte in finish, lightweight, easy to blend, and has light to medium coverage like the liquid foundation. I like this better than the liquid foundation because I find it easier to use and blend, and is like my second skin, only better.

FitMe! Pressed Powder – Price: Php399.00
I’m shade #230 Natural Buff. I used have used this one only once or twice, I think. And during those times, I’ve noticed that it works or looks best when used alone than as a setting powder for both foundations. It gives off a nice matte finish and controls the oiliness of the skin for up to 3 hours before needing a touch ups. I’d better use this powder more so I could give better judgments. This is only my first impression, after all.

Lastly, FitMe! Concealer – Price: Php199.00
I’m shade #25 Medium. This I use almost every day due to its lightweight-ness, medium to heavy coverage that does not emphasize the dry patches along my cheeks. I also like using this concealer alone and setting it with powder during my lazy days. It instantly brightens and hides my dark circles without making it look like I am wearing a concealer at all. It gives this natural effect that which I’d love to sport during the days.

Here’s a picture of me taken by Sara Black during the launch event and sporting the FitMe! Stick Foundation, FitMe! Concealer, and FitMe! Pressed Powder.
With all these four FitMe! formats targeting concerns from tone to texture, while leaving you with a
natural finish, there’s no need to settle anymore. Find the perfect fit for you only with FitMe! by
Maybelline New York. Indeed, you can tell the world, “Don’t judge me. Don’t hide me. Don’t change
me. FIT ME!”

Save Yourself From Retouching with Maybelline White Superfresh Cake Powder

One of the things I hate the most is retouching my makeup. The only time I touch my makeup is the time that I do it, after that, nada. That is not because I don’t want to, but because I am lazy to do so. Yeah, laziness is in my blood and I hate that part of myself. Anyway, you might have heard – or even tried using – this cake powder from Maybelline, White Superfresh. I just got my hands on it a few months ago and started using it for like three weeks now. This powder saves me from retouching every minute ever since I opened its box! I may have some issues with it, but nothing major. Why don’t you continue reading to know more, yes?

Maybelline White Superfresh Cake Powder comes in a sleek, white packaging with a built-in mirror and the sponge separated from the powder itself. There is something about the color white that makes anything look elegant and expensive, but this one is far from expensive because it only costs P299.

According to Maybelline, this powder is enriched in Mineral Perlite that is 5X the absorption power of regular talc; it facilitates sweat evaporation with almost zero build up. Long lasting (up to 12HRS fair matte look and fresh feel) matte coverage that instantly whitens and evens skin tone, smoothens and blends away perfection.

Based on some reviews I read before I opened its box is that this powder is not recommended to those with dry skin because of its dry texture. What I do is use a facial mist before applying it over my liquid foundation to make the dry areas of my skin less dry. It works, ladies. I do it with every powder foundation I have especially during those times when I don’t have enough time to do some blending. Also, do not expect that it can cover any redness etc. as it only gives light to medium coverage. And a slight white cast too.

Maybelline White Superfresh Cake Powder in action over Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse

I have the Natural 03 shade and it perfectly matches my skin tone. 03 Natural has a light and warm beige color with yellow undertones. If you are more on the morena side, they have darker shades too, you can choose between Honey 04 and Sand Beige 05. The finish is fresh matte which is probably the reason why it doesn’t work out to the people with dry skin. FYI, you know that part between the cheekbone and nose? That is the dry areas of my face – both sides.

As far as performance is concerned, I’d give Maybelline White Superfresh Cake Powder 4 out of 5 stars. While I didn’t have enough time to prove its 12-HR-of-looking-fresh claim, a 6-hour of freshness without the need to re-apply is still impressive. I love how it control and deal with the excess oil of my skin for several hours and giving me enough time to look fresh without the need to blot every now and then. Its performance is definitely worth more than 299 pesos.

Steps & Tips to Achieve the Perfect Airbrush Finish with Maybelline's Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation

Applying foundation can be a little tricky. We always envy the flawless-looking skin of the celebrities and try our best to make our foundation as perfect as possible. However, when doing so, we end up using too much products – primer, concealer, and two layers of foundation. That’s when Airbrush Makeup step into the picture. Airbrush tools can be a little pricey, and not everyone can afford it.

What if I tell you that you can achieve the perfect airbrush finish for as low as P599? Well, Maybelline made it possible with their Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation! With Dream Liquid Mousse, you get all the benefits of professional airbrush makeup, plus more, for only 7% of the price. They also have a Duo Fibre Brush to help you achieve the flawless skin!

To help you achieve the perfect airbrush finish look, simply follow these 4 easy steps & tips:

STEP 1: PREP YOUR FACE
Make sure that your skin is clean and moisturized before you begin.

TIP:  Wait at least 5 minutes before you apply the foundation. Let the moisturizer sink in so that you can easily blend the foundation on your skin.

STEP 2: PRIME UP!
Do not forget to do this part if you want your foundation to last. You don’t want your perfect airbrush finish to stay for only 3 hours, wouldn’t you?

TIP: You don’t need to apply too much primer. As a matter of fact, you only need a pea-sized amount. Dab it all over your face, and then remove the excess if you feel like you have enough for your face. Or you’ll end up like me, putting on too much primer and trying to blend it for almost 2 minutes. LOL

TIP 2: Before you apply the foundation after using a primer, use your hands

STEP 3: APPLY FOUNDATION & STIPPLE IT THE RIGHT WAY!
Using the Maybelline’s Duo Fibre Brush, apply the foundation all over your face. Don’t use too much foundation. Keep it light. And oh, don’t forget your neck, you always want to blend. J

TIP: Start in the middle part of your face and work the way out. Blend it all over your face to achieve the airbrush finish.

TIP 2: Apply your concealer after the foundation to keep it crease-free.

STEP 4: SET, SET, SET
Finish your foundation by setting it with powder.

TIP: Dab your setting powder (preferably translucent one) on in a W motion.

AND.. YOU’RE DONE!
You can now go on with the rest of your makeup.

There you go! Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse feels very light, looks really light and it’s awesome! As far as I can tell, I really did manage to achieve the perfect-airbrush-finish like with this foundation. Of course, it is not exactly the same when using the real airbrush makeup but it’s there.

Want to achieve the same effect? Well, you can! The Dream Liquid Mousse sells for only P599 (SRP), and with a minimum purchase of P799 inclusive of the Dream Liquid Mousse, they can get a FREE Duo Fibre Brush* for the same perfect results!

Maybelline’s Clear Smooth BB Trio Review

Weeee~ at last, I can finally post a product review! I had a very unstable internet connection last week and it’s good to have the connection back. With that said, I want to share the review of this bb trio of Maybelline – the bb cream, bb stick, and bb white. If you remember, I got this as a gift from Maybelline in exchange of helping them find the next Maybelline BB Cream Model. And I am probably the last to make this review out of all the bloggers who joined that challenge.

NOTE: These BB creams aren’t sold as a set but individually.
Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream SPF26 PA+++ 02 Natural
This BB Cream’s consistency is quite runny, which makes it easier to blend on the skin. The shade though, is a bit darker to my skin tone. But if you like the tanned effect, then I guess you will like this BB cream. It has enough SPF too, which is, well, every BB cream should have. The finish is semi-matte and that is so not good for me that have a real dry skin. This BB cream also accentuates the dry patches on my face. Coverage is light-to-medium and the staying power is not that good as it stays on my face for about 2-3 hours only.

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Stick SPF21 PA+++
This is by far my most favorite among the three. Not just because of its user friendliness, I also love how it can easily spread and blends on my skin. It has a powdery finish that makes my skin smoother despite of me having a dry skin. If you will look at the swatches below, it looks like the shade is too white for me but it’s actually not. Surprisingly, it is the best match to my skin tone. Though the coverage is very light; I really like how natural it looks at me. Perfect for everyday use and it won’t look like you have applied any BB cream on your face. Staying power is 4-5 hours.

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB White SPF50 PA+++
For me, BB White is more of a tinted moisturizer. Despite of it has a very high SPF, it also gives enough moisture and hydration to my skin, which is what I always looking for any base makeup. It glides on smoothly upon application. The coverage is also light-to-medium depending on how many layers you’ll apply on your face. I got the same shades of BB Cream and BB White and I should say that both of them are one tone darker to my skin tone, but I don’t actually mind. What really amazes me is the moisturizing property of this one, I mean the finish is not dewy at all but I can really feel that my skin is well-moisturized. Staying power is 2-3 hours in this humid weather.

These three BB’s are indeed different in their own way, but there are few aspects that make them sisters. BB Cream, BB Stick, and BB White are both lighter than any other bb products I have tried so far. They have the same scent which, of course, I can’t explain. (Scent is not my field of expertise) And lastly, they are all made by Maybelline New York.

L'Oreal Korean Style with Tony & Jackey Salon

You might already knew that recently, I got my hair permed, not just by your regular hair salon but by the most famous Korean Salon to date, Bang's by Tony and Jackey in partnership with L'Oreal Professionnel. If you were following me on Instagram then I guess you have an idea on how my hair looks now.

Last, August 7, 2013 I was invited by Mikki of Castro PR to attend the extraordinary blogger's event to try the newest perming services of Tony & Jackey and L'Oreal professionnel. Since I was planning to have my hair permed a long time ago, this event came in perfectly for me! Tony & Jackey & L'Oreal professionnel introduces the Korean  City Style that matches every Filipina's attitude; the Hong Dae Style, Gangnam Style, & Busan Style. Since I have a quite long hair I chose the Gangnam Style, although i really want the Busan Style but I think they have to cut my hair short and I don't like that. So if you wanna know how was my experience then, continue reading.

Let me first give you a little tour around the salon..
(Front Desk/ Entrance)

(wash area)

Inside the salon, you will see those pretty mirrors and comfortable chairs I also like the interior design of the salon, it's very nice and elegant at the same time. The salon is obviously pretty big, there's a big waiting area on the side which has a sofa that you'll really feel relaxed.

And look, a photo of mine!! All the bloggers have their pictures on their respective areas.

Cupcakes from Baker Street

Kawaii Kitty headbands~!!! :)

The L'Oreal Professionnel Team & Tony & Jackey Team having this short meeting before they started doing our hairs. :)

The hair stylist that Sky Park (President of Tony & Jackey) assigned to me is Rey. I really like him, he knows so many things about hairs.
Rey examining my hair. Because my hair was bleached before he says that my hair is not healthy anymore and he'll try his best to make it the gangnam way! :)

Before anything else, Rey had to cut my hair first to remove the damaged ends of my hair and so that the results will be better off.

After cutting my hair, they started to put on the medicine on my hair then washed it of after 10 minutes, I guess?

Then the perming process using this weird machine. I stayed there for about 20 minutes.

My seatmate that time, Hi Aya! ^o^

Kiddo! ^o^

after the alien machine, look how pretty and cool my hair is now... goldilocks curls! Hahaha! I felt like a doll then but you really can't imagine how crisp my hair felt like, it didn't scared me a bit because I know that my hair was in good hands *wink*

With Rey loosening the curls, he's cute here! haha he was actually the one telling me to take pictures~ kkkk.

And that was how my hair looks like after Rey loosened those goldilocks curls, it's not yet decent but wait a bit more... :))

Applying neutralizer on my hair, these two girls said that this part is the most important stage of perming. Neutralizer will maintain the curls unless the curls will be gone right after I washed my hair. They neutralized my hair for about 5 minutes, yes 5 minutes!! it really didn't take long..

Final touch, blow dry! Rey in action~ ^o^

These are the products used to gangnam my hair~

And here it is~~~ my new hair..

Look how pretty and bouncy my hair is now!! I so love it to bits ♥

Before everything ends, Maybelline gave us a grand make-over! :)

Nyeee! Hahaha I like my make-up that time. Big thanks to Maybelline.

It was a day full of fun and beauty and that all thanks to L'Oreal Professionnel, Bangs Tony & Jackey, Maybelline & Baker Street. They gave us an all over make-over, from our hair to our make-ups. Now, I am so inlove with my hair better than before. That was yet another wonderful bloggers event that I enjoyed with my blogger friends and new friends! :)

So if you wish to get your hair done the Korean City Styles, then you must take note of their prices:
